Homeless Agencies
Some examples of how kids are involved:
A group of preschool kids helped their mothers plan and serve a meal at a homeless shelter.
An elementary school class made 'Share Care Bags' with soap, shampoo, combs, and toothbrushes for a womens shelter. They even enclosed personal notes!
A Sunday school group collected toys, games, and sports equipment and gave them to children at a homeless center.
A group of fifth graders had a holiday party for homeless children.
What else can we do?
Collect items and take them to a shelter.
Collect change in a container, get it counted, and send a check directly to a homeless agency of your choice.
Purchase toys during big sales to donate for homeless kids.
Open a lemonade stand or have a bake sale and give the money to a shelter.
If you're old enough, volunteer to help at a homeless shelter.
Maybe your family, church group, scout troop, or class could do something to help the homeless! If you have a story to share about how your child has helped the homeless, please share it with The Word FM family!
